About Heart and Soul Yoga with Sharon

I am a mother of three awesome kids (young adults) that are all married, married to a wonderful man for over 35 years, and have 7 beautiful grandchildren!

I'm a RETIRED middle school science teacher by day - retired May of 2022!

I love to be active with running, biking, swimming and hiking! Which is what drew me to yoga! As I was getting close to age 50, I realized I needed some balance for my body and I found yoga! Since then I have learned SO many benefits to yoga that have changed my life! I have become more relaxed, more centered, more balanced, all the while enhancing my faith which ultimately fueled a desire to share this beauty of yoga with others! I have found more love in my heart and peace in my soul and I aspire to share this love and peace I have found with individuals through my classes, workshops and retreats.

My faith is very important to me! I am a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Highland, IL. I cantor for masses and I LOVE to share my love of music. I also am a part of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) team. I assist with Perpetual Adoration one hour a week at the local hospital chapel. All which enhance my faith and allow me to share with others.

I completed my 500 hour yoga certification in June 2019! I had the wonderful opportunity to learn from Max Strom - master yoga instructor - the summer of 2017 and 2018. It certainly taught me a lot about yoga and myself! I also had the privilege to learn from Deborah Adele - author of the "Yamas and Niyamas" - a wonderful book about the 10 essential components of yoga and life in general! During my training I had the privilege to train from Michael Johnson for Asheville, NC - what an incredible experience. In addition I was blessed to learn about Bahkti yoga from singer/artist and yogi Luna Ray! What a powerful session!

I do love sitting on my patio in the summer mornings with my coffee (my little addiction!) Nothing better than relaxing and enjoying the beauty God has given us! I love to read (especially during the summer - about the only time I can with teaching!) and I LOVE to cook!

SO....I want to share this beauty of yoga with you. Come join me to learn about the benefits and beauty of yoga!
