Hatha Yoga is the foundation and cornerstone of most yoga styles and aims to create balance in body, mind and energy. Every Hatha class includes Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques) , Dharana (Concentration) and Dhyana (Meditation). Mudras (gestures) and Bandhas (energetic locks) may be incorporated in the practice.
The class starts with a long Savasana to ground ourselves in the practice followed by Pranayama to energize but also calm the nervous system, a thorough warm-up for the joints and sun salutations to increase mobility and enhance Concentration as well as a foundational standing/seated/floor Asana sequence to train balance and increase strength and flexibility. We end with relaxation/yogic sleep and Meditation to integrate the practice.
The class moves in slow pace and you practice according to your ability.
• Cancellations are accepted 8 hours before class to avoid being charged.
• Bring your own yoga mat or rent one at reception.
