Description
Ashtanga yoga is an energetic style of traditional yoga that synchronises the breath with movement.
Each pose is kept for five to eight steady and even breath and is linked with a vinyasa.
The asanas are always practised in a fixed, specific order. The first of the six series is called the Primary Series, it cleanses and tones the body and mind. The asanas in this sequence are building strength and flexibility, loosening tight muscles, realigning and detoxifying the body and nervous system. With regular practice focus, willpower, mind-body awareness and confidence are improved.
