Description
Yoga is extremely beneficial for kids as it helps to shape our younger generation into the full expression of themselves as human beings.
It helps them become more physically aware of their bodies as well as mentally and emotionally balanced to face any situation with a cool clear head. We think it's really important to explore this all in a non-competitive and down-to-earth environment.
Yoga has been shown to enhance mental, emotional and physical health in children.
Physically, yoga builds strength, stability, endurance and a sense of balance.
Psychologically, yoga helps boost children’s self esteem, self regulation and confidence which in turn helps them become more resilient in our ever-changing society.
The practice will also help young minds focus and lessen their sense of stress. Us adults often forget that children worry and feel anxiety just like us. Yoga can teach these young minds helpful ways to relax and re-center.
In this series, yoga teachers Ainslie and Chantelle will introduce children to asanas (yoga postures), breathing techniques (pranayama), mindfulness and guided relaxation. With a big emphasis on fun, play and collaboration – often led by the children’s own ideas and imagination; supporting a deeper awareness of nature, animals and the environment.
Spaces will be limited to ensure all kids get the best yoga experience.
Boys and girls of ages 5 - 10 are all welcome.
Kids will need to bring their own mat.
