Na de middelbare school maakte Eeke van der Wal een reis door Zuid-India. Daar werd ze gegrepen door het land en alles wat met India te maken had, waaronder yoga. In 2010 kwam ze via Claas en Hiske in aanraking met Iyengar yoga. Eeke houdt van het fysieke aspect van yoga en de precisie die deze vorm van yoga biedt. Gaandeweg raakte ze gefascineerd door het effect dat yoga heeft op je denken en je (vaak onbewuste) gedrag.
Ook in haar werk als organisatieontwikkelaar houdt Eeke zich bezig met menselijk gedrag. Ze staat regelmatig voor de vraag: hoe krijg je mensen in beweging? – een vraag waarmee ze nu ook aan de slag kan in de yoga lerarenopleiding. Voordat Eeke met yoga begon heeft ze 10 jaar lang wedstrijd gezwommen op nationaal niveau. Verder studeerde ze Verandermanagement en Culturele Analyse. In haar vrije tijd leest Eeke graag, doet ze aan partner-acrobatiek en schrijft ze korte verhalen.
After high school, Eeke van der Wal made a trip through South India. There she was captivated by the country and everything to do with India, including yoga. In 2010 she came into contact with Iyengar yoga through Claas and Hiske. Eeke loves the physical aspect of yoga and the precision that this form of yoga offers. Gradually she became fascinated by the effect that yoga has on your thinking and your (often unconscious) behaviour.
Eeke is also concerned with human behavior in her work as an organizational developer. She is regularly faced with the question: how do you get people moving? – a question that she can now also use in the yoga teacher training. Before Eeke started yoga, she competed at national level for 10 years. She also studied Change Management and Cultural Analysis. In her spare time, Eeke enjoys reading, doing partner acrobatics and writing short stories.

Daniela brengt als web- en grafisch ontwerper veel tijd door achter de computer, en ze merkt dat yoga haar lichaam in balans houdt en energie geeft. In haar lessen vindt Daniela het belangrijk een stevige basis op te bouwen en dan geleidelijk naar diepere niveaus te gaan. Ze helpt studenten om hun lichaam te ontwikkelen en hun relatie met hun lichaam te verbeteren. “Ik geniet ervan als ik het verschil zie tussen hoe studenten in Savasana liggen (de laatste ontspanningshouding van de les) en hoe ze de les binnenkwamen”.
As a web and graphic designer, Daniela spends a lot of time behind the computer, and she notices that yoga balances and energizes her body. In her classes, Daniela finds it important to build a solid foundation and then gradually move to deeper levels. She helps students to develop their bodies and improve their relationship with their bodies. “I enjoy seeing the difference between how students lie in Savasana (the last relaxation pose of the class) and how they entered the class”.

Heb je een chronische aandoening waardoor je wat meer hulp nodig hebt om de yogahoudingen aan te passen? Zijn er specifieke gebieden in je lichaam die meer aandacht nodig hebben omdat ze zwak of juist stijf zijn? Of heb je vragen over hoe je jouw yogapractice kunt aanpassen aan je eigen situatie? Dan zijn onze Special Needs-lessen (semi-privélessen) iets voor jou! Je krijgt oefeningen die speciaal op jouw vragen of klachten toegespitst zijn.
We zien in de Special Needs lessen mensen die een blessure hebben en willen weten hoe ze yoga kunnen doen en de blessure niet verergeren – of deze zelfs helpen genezen. Maar ook mensen met bijvoorbeeld reuma, MS, Parkinsons of zelfs een dwarsleasie, die in de lessen op een aangepaste manier yoga kunnen doen in een veilige en ondersteunende omgeving. Sommigen doen een tijdje Special Needs lessen om te leren hoe ze mee kunnen doen in de andere lessen. Anderen blijven in de Special Needs les aan hun eigen programma werken. Alle deelnemers werken op hun eigen niveau.

We see students in the Special Needs classes who have an injury and want to know how to do yoga and not aggravate the injury – or even help to heal it. And also students with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, MS, Parkinsons or even paraplegics who can do yoga in an apadapted way in a safe and supportive environment in these classes. Some take Special Needs classes for a while to learn how to take care of their needs in the other classes. Others continue to work on their own program in the Special Needs class. All participants work at their own level.

The classes are suitable for beginners and open to everyone: pay what you can afford or join with your iYoga Unlimited Subscription. In de back care lessen brengen we de aandacht naar twee belangrijke gebieden in ons lichaam: De ene keer ligt de focus op bovenrug, schouders en nek en de andere keer op de onderrug, bekken en heupen. Twee gebieden die je kan zien als de knooppunten van je lichaam waar veel hoofdaders, zenuwbanen, spieren en pezen doorheen lopen en van waaruit we het onder- en bovenlichaam bewegen. Gebieden waar we ongemerkt makkelijk spanning en emoties vasthouden, verslappen of juist verharden als we moe zijn en gaan compenseren in andere gebieden, waardoor er een disbalans ontstaat. Deze les is een combinatie van ontspanning en aanspanning. Bewust worden van onnodige (aan)spanningen, loslaten en ruimte maken om zo de juiste spieren aan te spannen en sterker te maken.
Deze les is voor iedereen! Mocht je een blessure of aandoening hebben, dan adviseren we om voorafgaande aan de les een email te sturen of 10 minuten voor de les aanwezig te zijn, zodat er tijd is om dit te delen met de docent.

In this level 3 class, we expect you to be familiar with Iyengar yoga for at least one year, and be able to safely do headstand and shoulderstand (Sirsasana and Sarvangasana) or alternatives when appropriate. We will do some more work with inversions, backbends and other more advanced poses so we expect you to have a good set of props or knowledge of how to use your furniture.

Francesca is van oorsprong muzikant, en begon in 2010 ietwat onwillig met yoga, niet verwachtend dat het haar of haar leven zo volledig zou veranderen. Ze ontdekte Iyengar yoga een jaar later, en haar leven nam een andere onverwachte wending toen ze de teacher training begon in 2016, bij Delilah King en Rembert Petrus in Amsterdam. Ze behaalde haar Introductory certificaat in 2018. Yoga verandert haar nog steeds. Francesca is bijzonder dankbaar dat ze een leraar en een pad heeft gevonden, en om mensen te kunnen helpen door middel van yoga.
Originally a musician, Francesca started yoga somewhat reluctantly in 2010, not expecting it to change her or her life so completely. She discovered Iyengar yoga a year later, and her life took another unexpected turn when she started teacher training in 2016, with Delilah King and Rembert Petrus in Amsterdam. She received her Introductory certificate in 2018. Yoga is still changing her. Francesca is extremely grateful to have found a teacher and a path, and to be able to help people through yoga.

Eeke van der Wal
Na de middelbare school maakte Eeke van der Wal een reis door Zuid-India. Daar werd ze gegrepen door het land en alles wat met India te maken had, waaronder yoga. In 2010 kwam ze via Claas en Hiske in aanraking met Iyengar yoga. Eeke houdt van het fysieke aspect van yoga en de precisie die deze vorm van yoga biedt. Gaandeweg raakte ze gefascineerd door het effect dat yoga heeft op je denken en je (vaak onbewuste) gedrag.
Ook in haar werk als organisatieontwikkelaar houdt Eeke zich bezig met menselijk gedrag. Ze staat regelmatig voor de vraag: hoe krijg je mensen in beweging? – een vraag waarmee ze nu ook aan de slag kan in de yoga lerarenopleiding. Voordat Eeke met yoga begon heeft ze 10 jaar lang wedstrijd gezwommen op nationaal niveau. Verder studeerde ze Verandermanagement en Culturele Analyse. In haar vrije tijd leest Eeke graag, doet ze aan partner-acrobatiek en schrijft ze korte verhalen.
After high school, Eeke van der Wal made a trip through South India. There she was captivated by the country and everything to do with India, including yoga. In 2010 she came into contact with Iyengar yoga through Claas and Hiske. Eeke loves the physical aspect of yoga and the precision that this form of yoga offers. Gradually she became fascinated by the effect that yoga has on your thinking and your (often unconscious) behaviour.
Eeke is also concerned with human behavior in her work as an organizational developer. She is regularly faced with the question: how do you get people moving? – a question that she can now also use in the yoga teacher training. Before Eeke started yoga, she competed at national level for 10 years. She also studied Change Management and Cultural Analysis. In her spare time, Eeke enjoys reading, doing partner acrobatics and writing short stories.

For students who are just starting out with yoga or haven’t done Iyengar yoga before. But also great if you’ve been doing yoga for years. Build up your strength in standing poses, learn Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) and other fundamental postures.

Tally begon met yoga uit nieuwsgierigheid: je weet niet wat je mist tot je het probeert… en sindsdien blijft ze proberen, iedere dag weer. Ze houdt van de precisie en gedetailleerdheid van de Iyengar methode, en gelooft dat iedereen hiervan kan profiteren. Toen ze haar ervaringen met vrienden en familie wilde delen, ontdekte ze een nieuwe invalshoek in haar oefenproces: het lesgeven aan anderen. Met haar achtergrond in de financiële sector komt haar analytische en probleemoplossende vermogen haar goed van pas in haar dagelijkse oefening en het lesgeven. Ze combineerde haar passie voor yoga en reizen en volgde lessen en workshops in verschillende landen. Nu woont ze in Eilat, maar dankzij Corona kunnen we nog steeds van haar online lessen genieten.
Tally started yoga out of curiosity: you don't know what you're missing until you try it… and she's been trying ever since. She loves the precision and detail of the Iyengar method, and believes everyone can benefit from it. When she wanted to share her experiences with friends and family, she discovered a new angle in her practice process: teaching others. With her background in the financial sector, her analytical and problem-solving skills serve her well in her daily practice and teaching. She combined her passion for yoga and travel and took classes and workshops in different countries. Now she lives in Eilat, but thanks to Corona we can still enjoy her online classes.

Voor iedereen. Tijdens de restorative yogalessen ontspan en herstel je in ondersteunde houdingen. Daardoor komt je zenuwstelsel tot rust. Je bestudeert je adem en de invloed ervan op je lichaam en bewustzijn.
For everybody. During the restorative yoga classes you relax and recover in supported postures. This calms your nervous system. You study your breath and its influence on your body and consciousness.
