Chair Yoga: Gentle Movement for Strength, Flexibility & Wellbeing
Chair Yoga is a safe, supportive, and accessible form of yoga designed specifically for older adults or folk who are recovering from illness or surgery or managing chronic conditions. Using the support of a chair—either seated or standing—you’ll be guided through gentle movements, stretches, and breathing practices that help improve mobility, balance, circulation, and overall wellbeing.
This class is ideal for those who may have limited mobility, arthritis, balance concerns, or anyone looking for a slower-paced, low-impact practice. No floor work is involved, and all poses can be modified to meet your individual needs and comfort level.
Benefits of Chair Yoga Include:
Increased flexibility and joint mobility
Improved balance and coordination
Better posture and circulation
Stress reduction and mental clarity
A sense of connection and community
What to Expect:
Each class includes seated and optional standing movements using the chair for support, mindful breathing techniques, and short guided relaxation. The focus is on moving safely, with awareness and ease—no experience with yoga is necessary.
Come as you are. All abilities and levels of fitness are welcome.
