Katonah Yoga

19:00 - 20:00
LaDoubleJ's Gong Temple - Via Vigevano 18, Milano
Marco Migliavacca
Marco is a classically trained yoga instructor and can run a sweaty vinyasa class like nobody’s business. But, thankfully, he is so much more than that. He has taught Yin Yoga for many years, a restorative, slow, and subtle practice, as well as Pranayama, an ancient yogic breathing technique. In the Gong Temple he now shares his Katonah yoga expertise with our Milan community to help students enhance their understanding of their bodies and minds while also improving their flexibility, strength and overall well-being. He’s also just the happiest person - joyful, encouraging, a ball of pure light energy.
Alessandra started out as a photographer, always interested in the body and its language. Her passion for outdoor sports, such as climbing and cycling, brought her almost naturally to the practice of yoga, initially for its physical benefits, then developing a growing interest in the spiritual aspects of this wonderful discipline. In 2015 she completed her first Vinyasa training at the Loom Studio in New York, then continuing her training in Milan, thanks to the meeting with Marco Migliavacca and Giovanna De Paulis. The adaptability of the practice to the student, the respect for the anatomy and the specific personal history of each person, the openness to listening and experimentation, the idea of being as a means to allow the student to get in touch with his or her deepest self, are all key methods of her work aimed at re-discovering the innate integration between the mind and the body of each person.
Description
Katonah Yoga is a practice of Hatha yoga, pranayama and meditation, developed over 40 years ago by Nevine Michaan that incorporates Taoist principles, Chinese medicine, metaphors, sacred geometry and numerology. Katonah Yoga approaches the asana sequences more like a workshop than a flow, dedicating space and time to each practitioner. When not hosted by Marco himself, this class will be led by his incredible right arm, Alessandra Tisato.
