About Lightness with Laura
Hi there, welcome to Ligthness with Laura, a space where you can đshine your inner lightđ
Thought Iâd tell you a bit about myself and the journey that brought me to Lightness with Laura âš
Iâve been into fitness for a number of years now and I love trying different and new ways to move my body. And for a while yoga wasnât really movement that I craved, I actually didnât like it/ didnât think it was for me.
The real break came in from a different direction for me. After suffering from IBS for many years, I decided to try @Nerva a program of gut-directed hypnotherapy and breath work, which was incredibly effective at reducing my IBS symptoms - in particular the positive effects of breath work blew my mind đ€Ż
After going through the program, I gave yoga another try (thanks to my sister, who always loved yoga but enjoys things even more when in good company đ) and, to my surprise, I found yoga, with its focus on breath and movement, allowed me to tap into that same space.
I started practicing more regularly and appreciating more the space I could take up to just slow down, be present and in the moment, in a society that glorifies being busy all the time (to our detriment) and âdoingâ over âbeingâ.
I then decided to further my practice and develop more knowledge over what yoga truly is and means by going on yoga teacher trainingâŠ
âŠand here I am now. I guess if there is anything that I have learnt from my journey so far is that it doesnât have to be a linear process, and that seeing things from a different perspective might open up new avenues for self-development and enrich your life (i.e. yoga isnât really about fitness or what you see, itâs about whatâs going on inside).
This is just the start of my journey, and I feel truly blessed to be able to share it with you allđđŒ
