Description
Bridget has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She is an experienced and knowledgeable teacher specialising in prenatal yoga and she can help you to modify and adapt any part of the practice to suit your specific needs.
Prenatal Yoga is a time to support women along their pregnancy journey. Prenatal yoga confers a huge range of benefits including building strength and stability to protect the joints, relieve stiffness and tension, reduce stress, promote mindfulness and encourage bonding with the baby. Prenatal yoga is very beneficial for encouraging women to learn to listen to their bodies.
In this workshop you will move the body through asanas (postures) and explore breathwork and relaxation tools to help relax and calm the mind. We will explore yoga and breathing practices to support common symptoms of pregnancy such as heartburn, leg cramps, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain and separation of abdominal muscles and this workshop will help to build body awareness, strength, flexibility and stability to help support the physical changes of pregnancy, preparing for birth and beyond.
We will finish class with some herbal teas and chats; an opportunity to share your experiences with other women in the class in a supportive, safe environment. Mats, blankets and bolsters are provided. We move through a practice that is gentle and accessible for anyone even if you have never practiced yoga before.
