About Lizzie Yoga Teacher

Welcome! I’m Lizzie.

Yoga has been a grounding and healing part of my life for the past few years, and it’s a joy to now be sharing that practice through teaching. My approach is inclusive, supportive and rooted in real-life experience with all its beauty, challenges and humour.

I originally trained as an actor at RADA, with a grounding in Alexander Technique and Laban. That training shaped the way I understand the connection between body, voice and mind and the importance of caring for them symbiotically, not only in performance, but in everyday life and for wellbeing.

Alongside teaching yoga I voiceovers, playwriting, writing, painting, teaching drama. I also run my communication skills business MOVESPEAK- Feel Seen. Be Heard. Hold Your Own When It Matters Most. My clients include professionals across a range of organisations, from corporate teams to creative practitioners.

Although my work spans different disciplines, the thread connecting all of it is communication, embodiment and human connection. Whether I’m teaching yoga, coaching voice and presence, or working creatively, I’m interested in helping people feel more grounded, expressive and connected to themselves.

Creativity, curiosity and connection are at the heart of everything I do. I’m naturally positive, but like many people, I’ve faced deep challenges both physically and mentally. Yoga became a powerful way back to myself and it continues to bring me home every time I step on the mat.

I live with ADHD, which brings both creative energy and its share of challenges. I also have Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex (EBS – check out www.debra.org.uk to spread awareness), a lifelong condition that causes occasional blistering on my hands and feet. (It sounds intense, but don’t worry, I’ve got it handled!) Yoga has helped me connect more deeply with my neurodivergent self, offering acceptance and a more mindful way to move through life physically and emotionally. It’s strengthened my resilience and helped me meet whatever arises with compassion. I hope to offer others the same space: to explore, connect and feel supported, wherever they’re starting from.

Just because one person can do a pose a certain way doesn’t mean that’s what’s right for your body and that’s the beauty of yoga, it’s not a competition with anyone else or even with yourself. Yoga isn’t just about movement; it’s a guiding and grounding force, it’s a practice I return to again and again, anchoring in breath and body, drawing strength from within, building courage to keep learning. It’s not a performance. It’s not about how far you fold. It’s about presence. About how we breathe, how we hold space for ourselves and for each other. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being here.

Through my lived experience and background in both the creative arts and sport, I’ve come to appreciate the body’s strength, adaptability and deep need for care. That understanding alongside a real desire to help others find calm amidst chaos is what guides my teaching. Hatha/Vinyasa yoga is my training- rooted in breath, movement, mindfulness and stillness, it offers a balanced foundation that brings the mind and body into harmony. I hold deep respect for the Sanskrit terms traditionally used in yoga they carry the history, meaning and lineage of the practice and I aim to honour that heritage while also adapting to modern needs.

I believe in championing and empowering people who want to reconnect with themselves and each other in a world that often feels disconnected. Join me in practice and I’ll guide you through asana (movement), pranayama (breathwork) and dhyana (meditation), so you can explore how your body moves, feels and connects on and off the mat.

Honestly, if you show up, breathe, move, wobble, rest, and simply notice what’s there for yourself, that’s more than enough.

Come as you are. Hold your own. ○≋
