My yoga journey is a path that I've been walking since I was just 11 years old. It all started when my dad introduced me to the world of yoga. Those early sessions often consisted of simple sun salutations. At the time, I had no idea that this introduction would mark the beginning of a lifelong journey.
Over the years, my engagement with yoga was sporadic, coming and going in phases. It was only a few years ago that I made a conscious decision to commit to a daily practice, incorporating meditation alongside it. This shift was transformational; I discovered a profound connection between mind, body, and soul. I found a sense of balance, both within myself and in my life.
My newfound passion for yoga inspired me to take my practice to the next level. I embarked on a rigorous 200-hour yoga teacher training program, where I immersed myself in the deep philosophical and practical aspects of this ancient art. The experience was both challenging and rewarding, helping me expand my knowledge and strengthen my practice.
As my journey continued, I delved deeper into yoga's various branches. I completed specialized training in Yin yoga and Yang yoga, understanding the distinct qualities and benefits each brings to the mat. This diverse training not only broadened my personal practice but also equipped me with the tools to guide others on their own yoga journey.
Now, I am thrilled to be a part of the Lotus Roots community, where I can share my passion and knowledge with all of you. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet, connect, and practice with each one of you, on and off the mat. Together, we can explore the transformative power of yoga and embark on a journey toward inner peace, strength, and self-discovery. See you on the mat!

My yoga journey started about 10 years ago when I was already in my senior years. It brought me so much inner peace and during one of those meditative states a new passion was born.I felt yoga could be a lifelong practice of physical expansion , relaxation ,breathwork , reaching elevated states of meditation and practicing mindfulness. I had found something that I could explore lifelong and so the passion for yoga turned into a dream to become a yogateacher .About 4years ago my dream came true when I finished the 200hours multistyle yogateacher training and I kept on going with the 50 hours yin and on I went with the 50 hours vinyasa flow.
As a 55 + senior ,plus sized, recovering from a broken ankle joint and struggling with serious back issues the teacher trainings were very challenging but I got so much support from my teachers that I succesfully finished all and I have been teaching yoga since then in various gyms and yoga studios , both private and in groups. I realized that yoga is for everybody, no matter your age, size, physical limitations, gender, race, color or fitness level and I am the living example of it. So I welcome each and everyone of you to join me on the mat.

Description
Yoga Nidra, often referred to as "yogic sleep," is a form of guided meditation and deep relaxation technique that brings about a state of conscious relaxation. The practice is rooted in ancient yogic teachings and is designed to induce a state between wakefulness and sleep.
During a Yoga Nidra session, practitioners lie down comfortably, close their eyes, and follow the instructions of a guide. The guide typically takes them through a systematic relaxation of the body, breath awareness, and guided visualizations. The goal is to reach a state of deep relaxation while remaining mentally alert.
The practice is believed to help release tension, reduce stress, and promote a sense of inner peace and well-being. It is also said to have therapeutic benefits, aiding in better sleep, reducing anxiety, and enhancing overall mental and emotional balance.
Yoga Nidra is accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels, as it doesn't involve physical postures or strenuous activity. It is often used as a tool for relaxation, stress management, and self-discovery. Regular practice of Yoga Nidra may contribute to improved mental clarity, heightened creativity, and a deeper connection with oneself.

Hi! I am Jessica, born in Indonesia, daughter of a Bolivian mother and Dutch father, happily married, mom to be and living on this beautiful island for 6 years now. I love to travel and explore, experience and learn more about different cultures.
Yoga is one of my passions. Ever since I was a little girl my mom made me conscious of the importance of paying attention to your breath and we would try out a Yoga pose every now and then.
My real practice started when I went to University and since then I have been doing Yoga off and on. Some periods it would be a lot of Yoga and other periods it would be less Yoga but it was always present one way or another.
Not so long ago I decided to take my personal practice to another level by doing the 200 HR multi-style Yoga teacher training followed by 50 HR of Yin and 50 HR of Yang Flow. In my classes I will invite you to consciously connect with YOU, let go of everything else and be in the moment.
During class, always remember to listen to your body; it’s the best personal guide you will ever have, so you can trust and rely on it. In addition, feel free to ask me whatever you want related to your practice, in Dutch, Papiamentu, Spanish or English, I am there for you. Looking forward to meet you!

I first started practicing yoga 4 years ago and completely fell in love with it. Through regular practice I noticed the endless benefits, and yoga has been truly life altering for me.
I finished 200h hatha/vinyasa teacher training and later did 50h yin and 25h restorative/nidra training. I absolutely enjoy teaching classes and interacting with students, all while guiding them softly through their practice so they can connect to themselves and get the most out of it. I believe my style of teaching is for EVERYONE and EVERY body, reconnecting us to our mind, our breath and healing our hearts.
It would be my privilege to welcome you on the mat in the beautiful Lotus Roots studio. Let's flow together!
Namasté! 🧘♀️
