Description
Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of yoga. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically 3 to 7 minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues of ligaments & fascia rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.
The Three Principles of Yin Yoga Practice
1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth.
2. Resolve to remain still.
3. Hold the pose for time.
