Do you want to try yoga but feel intimidated about being in a class with more advanced practitioners? This beginner’s class is a great place to start your yoga journey. This class is also perfect for refreshers who would like to understand more about yoga or anyone who would like to revisit the foundations of yoga.
This class encourages you to re-connect with yourself, your body, mind and breath. We need this so much especially now when we all need support, grounding, connection and self-care.
Students are encouraged to relax and work at their own pace in a safe and non-competitive environment.
This class is dedicated to the unfolding of ourselves through the power of sound, movement and breath.
We will use ancient and contemporary world sounds and songs, devotional chants, poetry, and movement. You’ll discover the essential part that silence plays as you learn to listen, witness, attune, heal, and liberate trapped emotions — transmuting them into deeper states such as joy and peace.
No previous experience is required for this class, just noticing the inner call to find freedom, to discover your true nature and live a more compassionate, truthful and creative life.
This gentle yoga class is suitable for beginners or those that already have some yoga experience. You will be guided through a practice which will include pranayama (breathwork), asana (movement), relaxation and meditation.
This is a hatha based yoga practice with some practices from restorative yoga and some somatic movement, to build self-awareness, confidence, flexibility and support that not only affects you on the mat but reflects in your everyday life too.
Your Home Practice
Try to find a quiet space where you won't be disturbed. You will need a yoga mat, blanket and cushion, a block (a few sturdy books will work too) and a little space to move around in.
In this 45 minute practice offered online over zoom, I invite you to take some time to care for yourself and to completely rest and unwind. With gentle yoga poses, breathwork or meditation to relax the body, breath and mind we will move into the deeply healing practice of Yoga Nidra to renew your body with this deeply nourishing and rejuvenating practice. This unique yoga nidra experience will include music, mantra and poetry.
A gentle flowing yoga class, suitable for beginners and those who are familiar with yoga. A great way to kick start your weekend!
Please bring your own mat, cushion and blanked and dress in warm layers!
