Megan Bennett RYT 200 Certified Yoga Teacher Yoga has been a part of Megan’s life for over 10 years and she is passionate about helping others learn how to overcome and manage their individual physical and mental health challenges. After a serious car accident in ’08 and subsequent spine surgery in ’09, Megan was left wondering if she would ever be able to tie her own shoes up again – let alone practice yoga! Yoga practice has taught her resilience and given her deep insight into the body’s willingness is to heal if it’s given the time and space it needs. She fully believes we must live united in mind, body and spirit if we wish to heal our bodies and reclaim our lives after a traumatic event or disease. Megan is creative and outgoing. She enjoys laughing at herself and making others giggle. Classes with Megs are light-hearted and fun, but also reflect a strong sense of alignment and encouragement to modify postures and/or use props. Megan’s passion as a yoga teacher is to encourage every student to move with individual integrity and to “feel the pose” versus trying to “look like the pose.” Her hope is that students feel encouraged, safe and confident during class and leave feeling refreshed, balanced and grounded.
Description
"I'm not flexible enough for yoga!" ... This class is for you! This non-traditional yoga class is aimed at helping runners & athletes stretch out tight muscles while increasing flexibility. Using yoga as our guide, we will utilize a wide variety of postures to target rigid, inflexible muscles and inspire them to relax and unwind. This class also emphasizes the use of yoga props (straps and blocks) in order to gain more stability and increase range of motion.
This class is suitable for all levels and abilities. You do not need to be a runner or athlete specifically to join. This class is a great way to bridge the gap between fitness and stretching/relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels and abilities.
