I'm all about yoga being for everyone and everyBODY! Chair yoga is a great way for older adults and disabled people to get the wonderful health benefits of yoga.
Staying seated means that even frail seniors or those who aren’t flexible can safely do the exercises.
Yoga is an excellent way for older adults to loosen and stretch painful muscles, reduce stress, and improve circulation.
It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance.
The class will begin with breathing techniques-pranyama to ease any stress and anxiety and help us feel more present. We will practice gentle stretching and a chair based sun salutations, and will close with relaxation time.
I diffuse essential oils in my classes to stimulate the senses and enrich your yoga you time.

Venue: Downton Memorial Hall-take the path to the right hand side towards nursery to enter-The bonvalot Room is Upstairs but there is a lift.

A dynamic flowing class, suited to yogis who have practiced before. Great for developing core strength, de-stressing and postural awareness.

Boosts circulation, aids digestion and immunity...ALL those awesome yoga benefits. We'll use breathwork (pranayama) throughout to energise the body and mind. Class will end with Shavasana-final relaxation to send you back out into the world feeling amazing.

Due to COVID you'll need to bring your own mat and any props -blanket/cushions/blocks etc you may like to use.

First class £5. £10 thereafter or grab a 10 class pass for £80. Paypal via MOMO preferable or contact me to arrange BACs transfer. Cash on the night also accepted but please ensure you bring right amount :)

A soothing Hatha yoga class for all abilities! We begin with taking time focus on breathing and calming the mind, then continue to stretch and mobilise the body, exploring movement and postures. My teaching style is lighthearted and you can expect a laugh or two-yoga is about having fun too!

Hatha yoga focuses on alignment and is a great style to learn for beginners or more seasoned yogis who would like to focus on their technique. I ensure there are different variations of the poses for all levels and most poses can even be adapted to work around any injuries you may have. The Hatha Yoga postures and breathing techniques have been shown to help to remove toxins and purify the physical body, as well as lowering blood pressure. They also help to improve posture and spine/joint mobility, and increase bone density helping to improve overall fitness and core strength.

We close the practice in shavasana-total body and mind relaxation leaving you quiet and restful. I also offer an optional mini massage at the end of class to help you settle into your shavasana.

No class first Tuesday of the month due to local history club having the hall.

There will be COVID prevention procedures in place:
-Entrance and Exit doors
-hand gel stations
-mats 2m apart
-no equipment lent out from me-please bring a mat. An old towel and a camp mat works fine :)

Yin yoga is a wonderful way to unwind and connect with the body and the breath. The poses are held for longer than a traditional practice, by doing this we are able to develop a deeper level of healing within the body. Reaching the tougher fibres the body is made of such as ligaments and tendons in addition to muscle fibres usually focused on during a hatha yoga class.

Yin yoga is particularly good for those that lead very busy lives and stuggle to get some down time and stillness into their day. Due to the poses being held longer we are able to rest in this stillness and bring some balance to the body. Yin=being Yang=doing.

Yin yoga also cleanses the meridian systems within the body, (these are the same channels used within acupuncture reflexology etc) helping to promote full healing and optimum bodily function.

The classes are for all abilities, please bring and props such as blankets, pillows, comfy socks etc as the body will begin to cool down being so still. (Come in your pjs if you like!)
