Lorna Ryland
I first stepped onto the mat over 20 years ago, as a student in Edinburgh, and yoga has been my happy place ever since. I finally completed my 200hr yoga teacher training in 2025-6 while also training in my other great love, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.
With a background in mental health nursing, I’m passionate about trauma-informed practice and the healing potential of working with breath and body. I teach in a slow, meditative style that allows plenty of space to get comfortable in each asana and establish a focus on the breath. As someone with years of experience practicing yoga in a larger body, I strive to make my classes accessible and welcoming to all bodies and all levels.
When I’m not practicing yoga, you’ll find me playing Dungeons and Dragons, dabbling in amateur dramatics or with my nose stuck in a book.
