Menopause is the transition period from fertility to the the end of the menstrual cycle. This period can last anywhere from a couple of months to a few years and women can experience a wide range of physical, mental and emotional symptoms such as hot flushes, insomnia, irritability, headaches, anxiety, low mood and weight gain. This can have a big impact on our lives, our work and our relationships. I know because I am experiencing this transition right now.
As I have aged my personal practice has shifted from a stronger, more energetic flow to a slower, more mindful and nourishing practice with more of an emphasis on breathwork and restorative poses.
Whether you are managing perimenopause or post menopausal symptoms yoga can help you cope, find relief and navigate this transition in a positive way.
In this workshop we will practice some nourishing sequences including breathwork and use of essential oils to support hormonal health and to feel grounded, supported and at ease. Our session will also include some journaling and self reflection so that we can gain some awareness and have some conversation around what this stage feels like for us and what will individually help support us in navigating it.
Suitable for all yoga levels including beginners.
