Description

Combining gentle floor-based somatic movements and Restorative/Yin Yoga postures, this approach invites us to consciously slow down in order to harness a little energy to see us through the autumn months.
This can be beneficial for helping to relieve fatigue and low energy, reduce pain and discomfort in the body, as well as helping to support our immune health through cold and flu season.
It might feel as though you are doing very little in this class, but don't be fooled! Somatic practices and restorative approaches to yoga can have a profound effect on the nervous system, helping to promote better sleep, relieve stress and burnout, reduce chronic pain, improve immune function and help with regulating the hormones.
Somatic movements involve exploring teeny-tiny micro-movements, gentle pulsing, rocking and rolling movements on the floor. Restorative/Yin yoga includes mostly floor-based supported postures that are held for longer than in other yoga styles.
The emphasis is on softening and releasing, letting go of built up stress and tension so that we can move and live with more ease.
Please bring a blanket or towel for extra support during this class.
The class isn't suitable during pregnancy.
