Description
A morning yoga class to gently awaken and energise the body, stimulate energy flow and remove sluggishness or stagnation.
Class begins in supine with plenty of time for centreing and grounding, followed by gentle somatic warming movements in supine. We then explore yoga asana (postures), with an emphasis on noticing inner body sensations, cultivating somatic awareness, moving from the inside out and connecting to our own felt-sense of body and ground. As in all of my classes, there will be a lot of time offered for pausing and noticing, in order to foster greater body awareness and embodiment.
Includes weight-bearing postures on hands and knees, kneeling postures (e.g. lunges) and inversions (e.g. downward facing dog).
Useful props: A non-slip mat, yoga blocks / cushions, a blanket or towel; a yoga strap or scarf.
