Evan is a certified instructor and will teach us an introduction to a series of 26 postures for Strength, Balance and Stamina by sustaining postures with breath and awareness. Heat will come from our effort. 90-minute 26&2
*This class will be practiced at room temperature without air conditioning. It will not reach 105 degrees, but we recommend students bring a small face towel, water bottle, and a yoga mat towel if available.
(Bikram Method)
The Bikram method of hot yoga is a series of 26 postures (asanas) and 2 breathing exercises (pranayamas) traditionally practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity.* The sequence of asanas is designed to move the spine in all directions, thereby lubricating the joints between the vertebrae, and increasing spinal health. The movement of the body creates what is called a tourniquet effect. This improves blood flow and over time increases functioning of body systems, joint mobility, muscle strength and overall body wellness. This class is appropriate for all levels.
