Katie first discovered yoga 8 years ago when she was studying at university.
In 2016 she became more fascinated with the practice, going to classes almost every day in and around Manchester, Bikram hot yoga and Ashtanga were her go to.
Her personal practice has evolved over the years, she’s learned to listen more to her body and what she needs. “What I love about yoga, is that it’s not about what it looks like, but more about how it feels.”
“The practice is your own personally journey inward, as a practitioner I am there to guide you to find out what feels good for you.”
In 2018 I packed up my corporate life in Manchester and headed to India for 8 months of travel, seeking as much yoga as possible - it was here that I completed my 200 hour YTT. Since then I have completed a 50 hour Yin teacher training and spent 3 months in Bali delving deeper into my own personal practice.
Off the mat Katie is a bit of a travel addict, she loves seeing the world and experiencing all types of cultures and of course yoga.
In the last year Katie as been building her brand “Calm with Katie” where she combines all of her knowledge in mindset, movement and meditation to approach the world of coaching.
Her go to mantra for life is “feel the fear and do it anyway” - encouraging herself and others to step into their power whether that’s on or off the mat.
Katie’s classes are open for all levels, she offers variations throughout encouraging you to listen to your body and reminding you that this is a personal practice. Somedays may be slow and intuitive whilst others may feel a little more powerful, she encourages students to approach their practice with an open mind and an open heart. ❤️

Before discovering baby massage & baby yoga 2 years ago, Lucy was a nursery practitioner and a part of the nursery management team. She worked with babies and young children for 8 years, mainly working with babies ages 6 weeks - 12 months. She loved everything about my job as a nursery practitioner, but chose to leave after having her son, so she could spend some time at home with him.
She wanted something new to get stuck into and I knew she still wanted to have base a career around working with children, and with a bit of research she discovered baby massage and knew it would be something she would enjoy learning about. She loves that she can pass the skills onto other parents & babies!
Due to her last job, she has a good understanding of babies development and has lots of experience in working alongside parents.
She is trained in:

She understands being a parent, though it’s the greatest gift of all, can be challenging. She welcomes and encourages all parents to be completely themselves during classes, with no fear of judgment.

This class is a warm, welcoming & calm space for parents/carers, where you can completely and openly be yourself, whilst connecting with your baby & other parents. All while learning a new skill that greatly benefits you & your baby.
Learn how to soothe and comfort your little ones through skin to skin touch and aid their development.
Practicing baby massage gives you some time to be in the moment, and connect with your little one. We teach a full body massage during the class and explain the benefits of each and every stroke. Massage can help with parent & baby bonding, teething pain, colic, wind & digestion, body awareness, flexibility and muscle strength. It’s also a great opportunity for socialising for parents/carers!
Babies are welcome from 8 weeks+ and massage oil is provided. Patch tests are done at the start of the class.

Yoga is one of the tools that helps me come back home to myself and find a place of calm and connection; plus practising with my little angel really helps strengthen our bond...I cannot WAIT to share that with you too!

At NOT JUST A MUM CLUB you'll practise Yoga to help your body and mind and get you out of the house to meet other mums and babies!
You'll build strength, balance and coordination through a gentle Yoga practice whilst taking some time JUST FOR YOU (because you deserve it mama!)
These classes are 45 minutes in length, followed by half an hour to hang out afterward class for a chat with the other mamas and babas. (Ticket price includes a HOT coffee/tea & chocolate/biscuits)
Aimed at mums who would love to begin or get back into Yoga, but don't have time with their little ones to get to a class - now you can bring them with you and enjoy the practice together!
Please know that NOT JUST A MUM CLUB is a safe, welcoming group where anything goes...crying, feeding, sleeping are most definitely welcome here…and not just from the babies🙂

However there is NO RUSH; rest is extremely important after birth and into the fourth trimester...So depending on your birth I advise checking in with your intuition and beginning when you feel ready. (Speak to your midwife/health visitor/doctor if you’re unsure)

Sophie trained in womb & Fertility massage in October 2022 after experiencing this for herself for the first time some years prior during a sober festival. Feeling shocked to learn that this was mostly unheard of and that more women didn’t experience this type of massage on a regular basis, she knew then that it was something she was called to delve deeper into.
Since then she has been on a steady & continued self healing journey towards uncovering her own ancestral womb imprints, unveiling past trauma and learning more about womb health and care to implement crucial changes in lifestyle to further assist the healing of the womb space. All roads led to finding an aligned and respected teacher to study with in womb massage therapy, with trauma being at the focal point.
Combining her experience and knowledge of holding ceremonial space and intuitive hands on healing Sophie aims to bring you back into your body and firmly centred in the heart of your womb. The space in which we bring forth life, connecting to the worlds above and drawing energy up from the earth beneath our feet, our womb is the centre of the our universe. If we can heal the womb, we can heal the woman.

A blend of science and the sacred, womb massage is an ancient technique that women have been practicing for centuries across many different cultures. A modality that helps to support women on their journey to conscious conception, to ease menstrual conditions or to reconnect to their bodies and innate wisdom, whilst supporting the healing of their emotional and physical trauma.
All treatments start with Tibetan Bells, this clears the energy and lets you know that the massage will start. It’s time to allow the stress and worries of the day to be left outside of the massage space. You will then go on to first receive massage across the back body, the lumbar spine, sacral and gluteal areas. By starting here, you will have time to relax, slow down and become accustomed to Sophie’s energy and touch.
When massaging your abdomen, you will be receiving touch from your pubic bone up to your rib-cage, this will include a beautiful combination of oil techniques, pulsing, rebozo and guided visualisations. Each session is intuitive and Sophie works to adjust the time you have together to meet your bodies needs.
You will be nurtured, nourished and held in a safe place to allow you to release deep seated emotions that may be blocking your energy. Focusing on your solar plexus and your sacral energy centres, reawakening your confidence, creativity, sensuality and personal power. All whilst bringing everything back to its naturally balanced state to promote healthy hormone flow.
You can receive womb massage therapy throughout your cycle, flowing with which ever season you are in at the time of the massage. The first session will be 2 hours, where you will go through an in depth consultation together to learn more about what is coming up for you. Any session thereafter will be for 90 minutes.

When massaging your abdomen, you will be receiving touch from your pubic bone up to your rib-cage, this will include a beautiful combination of oil techniques, pulsing, rebozo and guided visualisations. Each session is intuitive and Sophie works to adjust the time you have together to meet your bodies needs.

You can receive womb massage therapy throughout your cycle, flowing with which ever season you are in at the time of the massage. The first session will be 2 hours, where you will go through an in depth consultation together to learn more about what is coming up for you. Any session thereafter will be for 90 minutes.
