I’m Amy (she/her) and I studied to be a yoga teacher at Ignite with Susanna Barkataki, where we focused on decolonising the practice. I love to incorporate all aspects of yoga and connect the spiritual practice to how we can move towards collective liberation.

Description

Mixed Up Healing is a space for people identifying as mixed heritage* to explore our mixed identities and how this impacts our experience of the world. Over 18s only.

*When we talk about mixed heritage, we mean people who are racialised and bi-racial (either white and something else or two or more different racialised heritages) or people with racialised parents (biological or not) or ancestry.

Amy (she/her) and Aris (he/him) are our mixed up healing facilitators!

Mixed Up Healing is for you if you’ve ever been unsure about which ethnicity box to tick on the census, or if you’ve ticked a box and it’s put you into an existential crisis about your racialised (racial?) identity. Or if you’ve ever been described as ‘white-passing’ and are not sure of what that is. Come and join us as we explore what it is to be mixed in this world obsessed with binary choices.

Each session is held on Zoom for 90 minutes, divided between creative practice, introspection, embodied practice and discussion. Together we hope to bridge the gap between how we see ourselves and how the world sees us, centring healing, joy, authenticity and learning. Entry is free, with an invitation afterwards to pay what you feel.
