Description
Here are the fundamentals:
“Qigong for health and Wellbeing”
The Eight Treasures or Ba Duan Jin, is possibly the most well known Qigong exercise in the world. Its ancient tradition stretches back to Zen Buddhism. Tired from extensive meditation, Bodhidharma composed a set of exercises to give them energy and strengthen their bodies.
Hundreds of years later, a Shaolin monk took the eight most effective moves and it is these exercises that we will be working with in the class.
In the class we will do:
*A warm up
Stretching
*5 Fundamental stances
*Qigong breathing
*8 Treasures Qigong
*Instant Health Massage
The Qigong class is an ideal way to prepare for the Tai Chi class (although not obligatory). The principles of the two practices are complementary and doing Qigong will improve the Tai Chi hand form as well as pushing hands exercises.
Tai Chi Yang style
Tai Chi belongs to the internal school of martial arts, enjoying centuries of popularity throughout China and now more widely practiced in the West.
The course will include:
*Warm Up
*stretching
*Fundamental stances
*Hand Form
(8 step
16 step
24 step)
- We will start with the 8 step.
*Partner work
