Ancient Taoist monks delved deep into their minds and bodies during meditation, and discovered the gentle flowing stretching exercises of Qi Qong, which unblocked the internal channels of chi energy in the body. This Qi Qong exercises allowed chi to flow smoothly through the meridians, leading to internal, health, high levels of energy and inner peace.

Yoga styles like Ashtanga uses postures asanas and breath control pranayama to enrrguze subtle channels nadis.
While Qi Qong uses movements and breath to move and balance chi.

Ashtanga stretches the spine and muscles deeply while building upper body strength, creating lightness in the body.
while Qi Qong stretches the connective tissue around the muscles, making them supple and relaxed, while strengthening the legs with stance work creating a stabilising and grounding through the body.
