The power of stillness. In the body, the connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia) are yin tissues, that we target in a yin class through longer held poses (3-7 minutes) and through meditative awareness. A regular yin practice calms the mind and body, reduces stress and anxiety, improves mobility and brings balance and vitality to the organs through meridian stimulation. This is a beautiful, holistic practice of presence and surrender, with you choosing how deep you go into a pose, using bolsters and blankets to create supportive and sustainable holds.
