Description
This 75-minute class blends practice and study, offering an experiential introduction to the Sādhana Pāda—the second chapter of the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, which outlines yoga as a lived, practical path.
We begin with approximately 20 minutes of gentle pranayama and simple āsana, designed to settle the body, regulate the breath, and prepare for comfortable sitting and focused inquiry. The movements are minimal and intentional, supporting steadiness and ease.
We then turn to study of 3–4 selected sūtras from the Sādhana Pāda, where we will:
Chant each sūtra
Learn clear and accessible Sanskrit pronunciation
Unpack key meanings and themes
Reflect on how these teachings apply to daily life and personal practice
This class is ideal for students curious about yoga beyond postures, and for anyone interested in understanding effort, discipline, and self-study as tools for clarity and transformation.
No prior experience with chanting or philosophy is required.
