Joy is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with extensive training in trauma-informed practice. She has deep respect and gratitude for yogic tradition and her root teacher T.K.V. Desikachar. Her approach is heart-centered and adaptive to the individual. She offers clear guidance and practical somatic tools that can be integrated little and often to build capacity for nervous system coherence and harmony on all dimensions. Joy has over a decade of experience facilitating sessions, supporting clients, and training practitioners.
Description
iRest is an evidence-based framework adapted from the ancient meditative practice of Yoga Nidra. This 10-step trauma-sensitive protocol is supported by over 30 clinical trials and studies. It is widely used for post-traumatic stress, chronic pain management, sleep issues, depression, anxiety, resiliency and overall well-being. iRest can be practiced laying down or seated. Previous meditation experience is not required - come as you are.
