I came to yoga for the physical—but I stayed for the transformation.
After years of bodybuilding, I was searching for something to ease the tightness and chronic pain in my body. What began as a way to build strength and flexibility became a lifelong path of discipline, devotion, and deep inner work.
Asana is powerful. It builds resilience, sharpens focus, and teaches the mind to stay steady under pressure. These aren’t just qualities that support meditation—they are the very foundation of it. The physical practice prepares us for stillness. It lays the groundwork for inner awareness, deep states of meditation, and ultimately, samadhi.
My teachings honor the full depth of yoga—from the physical to the subtle. I blend challenging, intentional movement with breath awareness, energetic awareness, and yogic philosophy. Outside the studio, I’m immersed in daily study and practice, focusing on pranayama, meditation, and internal cultivation. I’m currently studying Nei Gong with Damo Mitchell of the Internal Arts Academy and Kriya Yoga through the Self-Realization Fellowship, founded by Paramahansa Yogananda.
My formal training is in Ashtanga, Power Yoga, and Rocket Yoga, and I’ve had the privilege of learning from teachers who deeply understand both the physical body and the eight-limbed path. Their wisdom continues to shape my own practice and teaching, and I’m forever grateful for their guidance. I also hold a certification as a Chopra Health™ Ayurveda Teacher, trained by Dr. Deepak Chopra and his faculty, and weave Ayurvedic wisdom into how I live, move, and teach.
At the heart of it all, I teach because yoga continues to change my life—and I believe it can change yours, too. Whether you’re here to build strength or seek stillness, you’ll find that the deeper you go, the more the practice becomes not just something you do—but who you are.

Description
Prana and Qi ("chee") both refer to your body’s natural life force—your energy. In this class, we learn how to feel it, build it, and work with it through the practice of Daoist Nei Gong.
Expect slow, intentional movements that release tension, improve circulation, and gently awaken the body’s energy. From there, we move into stillness—using Daoist meditation techniques to turn inward and develop deeper awareness, focus, and spiritual connection.
☯️ Morning sessions are more Yang—focused on standing practices that build energy, clarity, and focus for the day ahead.
☯️ Evening sessions are more Yin—with more time spent seated, cultivating stillness, and enjoying longer meditation.
Over time, this practice can support greater energy, mental clarity, emotional balance, and a deeper meditation practice. No experience needed—just come as you are, open to exploring something new!

Power is our most dynamic and free-form flow class. While many of the postures stem from traditions like Ashtanga, Rocket, and Yogastha Sadhana, the sequencing is less fixed—allowing you to connect breath with movement while exploring creative transitions, challenges, and new pathways through the practice.
The class follows a consistent overall structure, while the internal flows change from class to class on purpose—moving the body through all planes of motion and supporting adaptability in both body and mind. Power emphasizes fascia-focused sequencing and includes a longer standing balance series designed to build strength, stability, mobility, and coordination throughout the body. Balance training supports joint health and healthy aging, while also improving focus, proprioception, and nervous system function.
This is a cardiovascularly engaging flow that challenges you to move with control and presence, using the breath to steady the mind while the practice builds heat. Expect core work, dynamic movement, and a well-earned savasana to close.

Strength + Skills is a calisthenics-focused workout class designed to build functional strength, mobility, and body awareness for daily life and for the fun “party tricks” you see in yoga classes—like inversions, arm balances, backbends, and tricky transitions. All you need is your body! Sometimes we use resistance bands, yoga blocks, sliders, kettlebells, and the wall to support and challenge movement, and some classes include HIIT or circuit-style training formats. No matter the structure, expect a full-body workout emphasizing upper-body push and pull strength, core stability, and leg strength while improving balance, coordination, proprioception, and control.
Classes are welcoming and accessible for all levels, with options to regress or progress every exercise. Come curious and leave feeling strong, capable, and excited about what’s possible!

Happy Hour at vyb is your Friday-night feel-good alternative to drinks! This longer, playful practice builds strength, mobility, and confidence in a supportive, workshop-style environment.
Some weeks you’ll flow through Power, Allie’s signature method—the practice that develops strength, mobility, and mental focus. This fast-paced, full-body flow hits all the essentials: balance, flexibility, core strength, arm balances, inversions, and tricky transitions. Other weeks it’s Rocket Yoga, fast-paced and inversion-heavy, emphasizing arm strength and daring you to explore upside-down possibilities. Both practices are challenging on both body and mind, but that's exactly what helps cultivate the concentration needed for meditation.
Either way, you’ll move, play, fall, laugh, and try again—celebrating the joy of movement and community. By the end, you’ll leave energized, empowered, and ready to kick off your weekend—but feel free to linger after class to chat, and bring a bevvie or a snack to enjoy. We aren’t in a rush!

Heidi Leigh
Hi, I’m Heidi Leigh and I’ve been teaching yoga for over 10 years, since moving to Winston Salem. I have three “kids” – Oliver Runyon Twist (5 yo), Pinky Alessandro Fiorucci (4 yo) and King George Phillip I (1 yo).
I have been lucky enough to have an amazing lifetime before becoming a yoga teacher. Traversing the country from FL to CA to NC, I worked in the film industry as the personal assistant for Sandra Bullock while filming A Time to Kill, in Disney HQ and for the NHL Florida Panthers. Spending so many years in office jobs gave me such an appreciation for how yoga impacts the way my body feels and the importance of building movement into the day.
My path to the mat started in 1995 when I was living in Los Angeles. My first class was with Bryan Kest and my relationship to the practice of yoga was an immediate love affair. 2005 was the year I went for my teacher training at the “Miami Beach Yoga Shala” and I had to navigate the storms on and off the mat as Katrina hit Florida. But life is full of changing weather and yoga has helped me build personal resilience.
My classes are challenging and joyful, and never the same. I plan my classes around you and your fellow party people. My goal for each class is for you to discover new opportunities for your practice – working muscles, building strong postures, creating good energy and overall finding happiness for all. I will never ask you to go past the point of fun, but always find your own rainbow connection. Song requests are welcome and everyone has music veto rights (except when Prince is on).
Disclaimer: I don’t always mean “last one”; I don’t know right from left; and I’m a middle child.
