30 Minute So Hum Meditation for Deep Calm | Pranayama + Silent Mantra
Allie LabateApril 29 2026 • Duration: 31 Minutes
This guided meditation begins with pranayama (breathwork) to regulate the nervous system and settle the body, making it easier to transition into meditation without resistance. From there, we move into a silent So Hum mantra meditation, where the mind is gently guided into deeper levels of stillness.
Rather than trying to control or silence your thoughts, a mantra gives the mind something subtle to rest on—allowing mental noise to naturally soften and clarity to emerge.
So Hum is a traditional Sanskrit mantra:
So = “That”
Hum = “I”
Together, it translates to “I Am That.”
In Vedic philosophy, “That” represents the greater universal intelligence—meaning this practice is a quiet reminder that you are supported, connected, and not separate from life itself.

Note About Kapalabhati:
Due to a microphone issue, the sound of Kapalabhati (skull-shining breath) wasn’t captured clearly in this video. Because hearing the rhythm of the breath is essential for learning this technique, you can follow along with a clear demonstration here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnZCE4OEBMI
