About Wellness at The Meetinghouse
Our Teachers
Kate Loewengart is the Wellness Resident at The Meetinghouse. Kate received her 200 hour yoga teaching certification from YogaWorks in 2010, an internationally recognized program with roots in both the Ashtanga (flow) and Iyengar (alignment) lineages. During this time, Kate was also a founding staff member of the Lil Omm Yoga community in Washington DC, where she worked in a collective of teachers to bring the eight limbs of yoga to students throughout the life cycle. This shaped her belief that yoga is a practice for any age and stage in our lives, and she weaves this perspective into the classes and workshops she teaches. Kate is also certified to teach mindfulness through Mindfulness Matters, and has developed mindfulness programs for classrooms that include professional training for educators. In addition to her certifications, she has studied multiple modalities and perspectives through retreats and workshops including Zen Buddhist Meditation with Karen Maezen Miller, Insight Meditation with Tara Brach and Sharon Salzburg, restorative movement with Donna Farhi, prenatal/postnatal yoga with Pleasance Silicki and children's yoga at the National Kids Yoga Conference. Kate holds a BA in History from Middlebury College.
Kristy Liesegang
Through Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga, Kristy became a certified yoga instructor and taught weekly from 2018-2023. During that time, she became fascinated with healing and the human spirit’s connection. Kristy decided to get certified in Reiki Second Degree in October 2020. Soon after that, she completed a 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training, took a number of Qigong classes, trained in Yin Yoga, participated in sound healing sessions, and obtained a Master Level of the Usui System of Reiki Energy Healing. Currently, Kristy conducts private yoga and reiki sessions at her home. She also volunteers weekly at Ann’s Place and Ridgefield Visiting Nurse providing Reiki treatments to patients, as well as, staff members. In January 2025, Kristy joined The Meetinghouse team to provide yoga instruction for their growing community.
Fanta Waterman
Grateful for how the principles and practice of yoga have influenced her personal experiences as well as her leadership journey, Fanta believes that yoga principles and practice can help with reflection, strength and resilience-building, and incorporates this ideology into her work with social entrepreneurs and health leaders as well as her yoga students. With over 500 hours of registered training with the Yoga Alliance and holding a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education and a PhD in Public Health, Dr. Fanta Waterman is a clinical assistant professor in Public Health Leadership and consultant to healthcare organizations aimed at increasing community access and representation in healthcare evidence, literature, and leadership.
Jean DeVoe
Jean DeVoe came to yoga years ago as a mom of three in need of a peaceful space. Through the quiet practice of yoga, she found many tools for bringing authenticity and self-renewal to her life. Yoga has been so integral to her well-being, that she completed her 200-hour teacher training certification as well as her 300 hour advanced teacher training at Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga so that she could share this knowledge with her community. Jean has a dance and choreography background that contributes to her passion for anatomy, alignment, and integrity of movement. In addition to teaching yoga, Jean teaches preschool creative movement classes and contemporary dance classes in Wilton, CT.
Jean enjoys teaching a process oriented, multi-level yoga class, with a focus on compassion, mindfulness, and self-appreciation.
