About Willow Creek Yoga

I’m a certified Yoga Teacher based in the Adelaide Hills. Yoga has been woven into my life since I was little. I first saw yoga watching Mum practicing at home and then later went to a few community classes with Mum and my sister. It was fun but nothing serious! Later in my 20's I was looking for more work/life balance and I found Iyengar Yoga. I loved the strength and flexibilty it built in me and how I felt a real grounding in the asana practice.
After I had my first child, I wanted to delve deeper into my yoga practice and attended a Yoga Retreat. Here I got to experience another side of yoga with daily meditation and pranayama as well as a daily physical practice which I had never experienced before.
I continued to practice yoga further advancing my poses but felt something was missing and decided to try new teachers. I finally came across Hatha yoga and got the experience I was seeking. I've been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring teachers who have encouraged me to embrace all aspects of yoga. Which brought me to Restorative Yoga. After the birth of my second child I had to stop attending yoga classes as my baby only had eyes for me! Lamenting with my teacher one day that I wanted to come back to class but was exhausted, she suggested that Restorative Yoga was what I needed at this time.
Restorative Yoga provide me with a nurturing and nourishing environment with which to regain my sense of self and slowly heal my body ready for more dynamic yoga. Realising how much I gained from yoga after missing it so much, I wanted to become a teacher and share the benefits especially Restorative Yoga.
I’ve embraced the world of yoga, and I’ve been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring individuals. Having the chance to now nourish and nurture my students through my classes fills me with joy. Everyone could use more yoga in their lives, so I hope to see you on the mat soon. Namaste.
