Lawrence Duran was born and raised in Miami, Florida and moved to Maui at the end of 2018 as a new restaurant Chef at the Grand Wailea. His love for food and community sparked in his early years while partaking in large family parties, dancing, and celebration. Attending Wisdom Flow Yoga regularly helped to steer his culinary path in a new direction. After two years of regular classes and workshops, he decided it was time to dive into his first teacher training. This calling to sit in the “Teacher’s Seat” was another expression of studentship. This opened up a world of spiritual growth, offering him the opportunity to hone and share his practice with his community. His dedication and willingness to learn has driven him in the kitchen, and those same values shine through his teachings.
