Joy is offering weekly morning yoga classes for those who want to establish a morning practice or simply try yoga. The traditional yoga texts state that yoga and meditation is best practiced in the morning, preferably before sunrise. You can avail of two different class times, as we all have different schedules & commitments.

Benefits of practicing yoga in the morning:

1. Loosen up for the day ahead - When we sleep our muscles rest and layers of connective tissue & body fluid builds up. This makes us feel stiff, and if we don't stretch that sensation can be with us all day. Morning yoga helps us loosen up our muscles & joints to enjoy our day.

2. Time for you - We can often have good intentions to get our self care in, but as we move through our day, it can fall off our to-do-list. By getting your practice in early, you make time to take care of yourself, before anything or anybody else.

3. Improves brain health - In yoga we practice Pranayama (breathing exercises), which help feed your brain with lots of oxygen. This improves mental clarity.

4. Tune into yourself - We develop more body awareness during yoga practice. This helps us tune in to what's going on deep down. Whether it's setting an intention for the day or just being more aware, we can carry this mindset throughout our day.

5. Improve digestion - By practicing yoga in the morning we benefit by having an empty (or almost empty) stomach. This helps us move more effortlessly. Our metabolism is also stimulated during yoga, so when you have your first meal you'll be really looking forward to it.
