Hey! I'm Jazz. I am passionate about Yin Yoga! It has literally changed my life and it is so ‘in’ right now. Yin Yoga is all about movement - movement of the body and our tissues, movement of breath, movement of thoughts, and movement of energy or Qi. The teachings are informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoist and Yogic Philosophies. There are many benefits of Yin Yoga - on many different layers. Every day your body is different, therefore, every practice will feel different. As a “movement specialist”, I love guiding students through a Yin Yoga practice. Simply coming into a shape to meet your edge, then resolving to remain still and allowing time and gravity to work our connective tissues can feel AMAZING! You get to practice: Patience Awareness Tolerance Non-forcing and non-grasping Moving, sensing and watching energy as it flows Conserving energy, not over-stepping the edge Observation, mindfulness and reflection. Being gentle with yourself. Students take these lessons off the mat, feeling more empowered to live life with a greater sense of compassion, ease, and grace. I believe that the Yin practice of ‘being’ offers a perfect balance to our often busy Yang lives of ‘doing’. As Buddha said, “Knowing the mind, shaping the mind, and freeing the mind”. Practicing Yin Yoga can open the doorway to awakening the root of happiness that we are all longing for. True happiness begins within. Take a journey into stillness and come practice with me to really discover all this for yourself! See you on your mat!
