I am an Eastern soul living in Western world. Growing up in Confucianism/Taoism philosophy and Chinese Medicine lifestyle, yoga and meditation have been a big part of my life. Throughout my years of practice, my journey has revealed my passion towards the healing powers both practices have to offer.
Having formalized my yoga teacher training in 2021, I am excited to share my practice/passion with everyone at Yoga Kāla. My offerings will help students find a meditative quality in the movements that balance the Yin and Yang energies, and awakens the healing power within us.
Description
Yin postures are primarily about release. They are passive in nature and held anywhere from one to five minutes to target the body’s connective tissues. This practice focuses on stilling the body for a gentle, sustained sensation rather than a deep stretch. This stillness, combined with gentle movement and breathwork, calms the mind, settles the nervous system and promotes improved mobility. Helpful props for this practice include: yoga bolsters; blankets; yoga blocks; and a yoga strap (or tie or scarf). Props are available in studio.
