Yoga, meditation and mindfulness help me to balance my energy, gain focus, clear my mind, and connect with myself. I learned about yoga and meditation in 2011 during an internship in India. I was fortunate to travel to the Himalayas and meet the Dalai Lama, which sparked my interest. When I lived in Myanmar in 2014, I got the chance to be a Buddhist monk apprentice for a short time, which was another stepping stone in developing my practice. Over the years, I discovered various styles of yoga and mindfulness and started to build a daily practice. During the COVID pandemic developed a consistent daily routine. Inspired by my own experience of yoga and my wife, a yoga teacher, I followed a yoga teacher training in the summer of 2020 and got certified (Brett Larkin, 200 hours, 2020). In 2021, yoga and mindfulness helped me to discover right on time I was heading towards burnout, and it was time to slow down. During this period, I have connected to the healing energy of yin yoga. This specific yoga practice helped me to regain my energy and recover from burnout. I followed my passion and got certified as a yin yoga teacher (Fat Yogis, 60 hours, spring 2022). Now I’m happy to share what I learned and help others experience the benefits of yin yoga.
