In this workshop, we will look at some anatomical features that come into play when practicing Backbends. Illustrated by a presentation, we will explore what happens to our spine when we extend it and how our breath can support this movement. Furthermore, we will look at the Myofascial Superficial Front Line*, and how we can steadily experience a stretch along this whole line when bending backwards.
The body is solid material wrapped around the breath - Ida Rolf
After the presentation we will practice a wide range of Backbends. We take it step by step and gradually build up towards some more advanced asana's.
During this session, there is lots of room for dialogue and sharing experiences. This workshop is suitable for all levels, however some experience in yoga is recommended.
