Athena is a yoga teacher from Montreal but decided to move to the Netherlands in 2020. Athena is able to understand and talk Dutch already pretty well, but teaches her classes in English. If you don't understand something during her class or have a hard time talking English, you can talk to her in Dutch as well. So don't let the language barrier get in the way of following her amazing classes.
Yoga became an important part of Athena's life as it became a refuge from the stress of studying in accountancy. It has then evolved into an introduction to being conscious of her health and well-being, now being a source for strength, agility, and peace of mind. She became increasingly interested in the practice, eventually deciding in 2015 to share with others what this practice is to her. Athena's love for movement has now also evolved to studying physiotherapy since 2021.
Her classes range from Yin yoga to Vinyasa flows, with hints of Yoga Tune Up, all based on thoughtful and intelligent sequencing for strength, agility and mindfulness.
Athena's main goal as a yoga teacher is to guide you through fun and safe movement while cultivating presence.
Beschrijving
Yin Yoga is a practice focused on stretching and taking the time. We will hold various asanas (postures) for anywhere between 1 to 10 minutes, with time to focus on our breath, our body and to slow down our thoughts.
