Maia has her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and she specializes in Hatha and Kundalini yoga with training in pranayama and meditation. She treats the body, mind, emotions, and spirit as one entity to provide a trauma-informed, accessible approach to yoga. Finding connection of mind and body through breath by way of slow and controlled movement.
Description
A classical Hatha yoga experience, beginning with awareness of body and breath while practicing observation of the mind and thoughts. Then transitioning to understanding a concept of yogic philosophy to bring into your movement practice.
Moving toward holding static postures to test your strength, Dharana (concentration), and Pranayama (breath control). Honouring the body through making the practice fit to your particular needs, flowing through transitions, and slowing down.
Culminating in Shavasana.
