Alignment Yoga is a style that helps you find safe and optimal alignment in your own unique body, with a focus on breath-based movement, releasing inefficient tension, and building stability through "action and resistance" to protect your joints.

In this class, "alignment" does not mean we are striving for any "correct" or "right" position, instead, it refers to being in alignment with the physics of the world, including gravity, pressure and "optimal" positioning for the greatest benefit over time. Interacting with these laws of physics rather than fighting against them will ensure that we are giving our bodies benefit, without causing them harm.

Come hang out with "Mr. Bones" and learn about your body in this gentle class that will involve grounding, a mindful warmup ("pre-yoga"), sun and moon salutations, standing poses, optional inversions and arm balances, backbends and front bends, twists, supine (on our back) work, and a long savasana for maximum integration.
