A lot of us are often feeling less than our best. We are stressed, tense and sometimes even uncomfortable and in pain.
Our human bodies and nervous system evolved and became optimised for a very different life than the one we are living now. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that we could really benefit from learning how our nervous system actually works and then start working with it, rather than against it.
The course will include using both movement and stillness to activate a greater awareness and presence. The aim is to cultivate a mindful connection with both the internal and external worlds, allowing us to navigate life with more ease and less tension.
We will learn about why our nervous system reacts the way it does, and simple technics to calm and soothe that reaction. With the idea to become less reactive and instead have a more mindful response to everything that life throws at us.
We will also use breathwork as a tool to activate the brain and create space within. Our breath is not just essential to our survival but also our most effective gateway to regulate our nervous system.
No prior yoga experience is necessary; this course is open to everyone, regardless of fitness level. There is an emphasis on inclusivity, making sure that all participants feel comfortable and supported.
All the classes will incorporate gentle movements that can be altered to suit and benefit everyone. Guided meditations and breathing exercises are explained thoroughly, ensuring everyone can follow along comfortably. I will encourage you to skip anything that doesn't feel right for you.

This whole course is heavily based on studies in neuroscience and similar fields. I will try and make it as easy and understandable as possible, but we will be going into some of the science of it, both because its fascinating, but also because it makes it easier to understand what and why we are doing the things we do.
