Ellie has been studying, taking and teaching yoga for over 20 years. She completed her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2018 including 100 hours in Yin Yoga. Ellie loves to teach Hatha yoga, gentle yoga, restorative, meditation and yoga Nidra. Ellie also enjoys sharing the sacred teachings of the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.

Join Ellie for a specially designed Yoga for Arthritis class that offers gentle, accessible movement to help ease joint stiffness, improve mobility, and support overall well-being. This 90-minute session is perfect for those living with arthritis or joint pain, whether you're new to yoga or looking for a supportive practice tailored to your needs.

This 90-minute class will be divided into three parts:

1. Education & Understanding – We’ll begin with an overview of osteoarthritis: what it is, how it manifests in the body, which joints are most commonly affected, and how they respond to different stressors. We’ll explore concepts such as mobilization vs. stability, extension vs. compression (opening vs. closing the joint), and various pain management strategies.

2. Gentle Slow Flow – A mindful, accessible movement practice using props and, if available, chairs. Movements will be slow and supportive, with options to suit varying levels of comfort and mobility.

3. Restorative Practice – We’ll finish with deeply relaxing, restorative postures to help ease tension and support overall joint comfort.

Using mindful movement, breathwork, and gentle stretching, Ellie will guide you through poses that are safe and adaptable for all bodies. You'll learn how yoga can help reduce inflammation, relieve stiffness, improve balance, and promote relaxation — all of which are essential in managing arthritis symptoms.
