✨Restorative Yin

Annie Phaneuf
Annie spent over 20 years in the nursing field, with experience in urgent, home, geriatric and palliative care. Within geriatric and palliative care she was fascinated with the dementia units where she spent many years. There she was able to observe how calm loving energy affected her patients' demeanour. This observation was the determinant that propelled her towards a more holistic approach to health care and well-being. She began educating herself on wellness, natural remedies, energy, meditation and this is when she discovered the all-encompassing benefits of yoga. Within this educational journey, she spent 1 month at Triguna Yoga, an ashram in Rishikesh, India, where she obtained her YTT. This was followed by another month deepening her practice, utilizing the three facets of yoga, asanas, pranayamas, and meditations in Thailand. She has always been a empathetic caregiver/healer at heart and now experienced yogi with natural tendencies to empower you in coming into your own power.

Description

Slow down, breathe deeply, and give your body the time it needs to restore. This calming class blends the long, mindful stretches of Yin Yoga with the supportive comfort of Restorative Yoga.

Participants looking for a restorative experience are encouraged to use bolsters, blankets, and other props to fully support the body, allowing for longer, more restful holds that promote deep relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Those attending for a Yin practice can choose to experience the same poses with minimal or no props, encouraging a deeper stretch through the connective tissues while improving flexibility, mobility, and mindfulness.

This adaptable class allows you to choose the level of support that best suits your body, making it an ideal practice for all experience levels.
