Description

Welcome to Yin & Yang Yoga with Emma!!
Balance is personal, changing and discovered through awareness. We all have different, sometimes contrasting needs, and showing up on our mats with the intention of openness and exploration is key in yin yang yoga practice.
Philosophically, yin and yang describe how opposite qualities are interconnected, complementary, and evolving natures that exist together to form a whole. Through this class, the challenge is to invite changing states, and allow movement and stillness to occur together to create a more balanced life.
What resonates one day, may not in another. Part of yin yang is to witness your fluidity and your becoming; the transition from effort to ease and vise versa, the space between contrasting states, and finding your middle ground, despite conflicting external stimuli or internal struggles. This is a space for you to allow all the parts to exist together.
This class will incorporate different levels of effort and ease. Yang can have a range from strength-building movements to dynamic flow sequences that build heat and Yin poses to target the cooler calming energy, the long passive holds for the deeper connective tissues, bones and joints. Both together offer better sleep, reduced stress, greater body and mind awareness, and greater flexibility and mobility. Props are offered but feel free to bring your own.

Join me in this balanced practice, all are welcomed!
