About Yoga Social Madrid
Welcome to yoga with me, Atiya. I aim to teach challenging and varied classes based on yogic principles and philosophy. Classes include breathing practices, poses and relaxation. My website is: www.atiyasana.com
After studying Biochemistry at University I went to Thailand to teach English where I also did a Thai Massage course. I returned to the UK to study law and worked for a commercial law firm as a lawyer for 4 years in London. I started to practice yoga at this time, left my job, trained to become a school teacher and a yoga teacher.
I have been teaching yoga since 2011. I also qualified as a Naturopathic Nutritionist in 2015 and saw clients in my clinic alongside teaching yoga.
I aim to live according to the holistic principles of yoga. My approach to classes is warm and modern while including some philosophy.
I have taught yoga full-time and part-time, teaching classes in my home studio in Bristol, gyms, other studios, retreats, schools and helping to train new yoga teachers. I trained to Advanced level in Canada, completed an intense sadhana course, completed specific training courses and taught children, teens and pregnant women.
Since moving to Madrid I have taught yoga independently and in studios, as well as continued running retreats. I also offer mentorship to new and expat yoga teachers to improve their teaching and setting up business.
I re-qualified as a Thai Massage Therapist in 2022 and worked at a massage centre for a year giving around 50 massages per month. I enjoy the natural and passive relief which a Thai massage offers. I aim to listen and connect with each person that comes in, personalising the massage accordingly. I offer bookings for massages two days per month.
I hope to meet you soon.
Thanks,
Atiya
