Description

This is a "back to basics" and or/introduction practice to the 5 major Prana vayus (winds). This is part 1 of a 7 part series about the Vayus.
1. Intro class
2. Apana
3. Samana
4. Pran
5. Vyana
6. Udana
7. Putting it all together

We will discuss how specific pose categories and breath ratios affect each vayu (and therefore our energy).

Through lecture and exploration, this intro practice will give you everything you need to know as a starting point for exploring the 5 major vayus within the subtle body.

Apana - governs grounding and elimination
Samana - governs digestion and assimilation
Pran - governs receptivity and nourishment
Vyana - governs circulation and integration
Udana - governs ascension and expression

Understanding the Prana Vayu's is imperative when practicing yoga. I can't promise enlightenment, but I will say that understanding this information changes things in a BIG way.

Enjoy the exploration.
