This class will be guest taught by Jen Meehan. Like many people, Jen came to yoga seeking relief from years of chronic back pain. She was drawn to Iyengar yoga’s attention to alignment and the use of props to make the poses accessible to all students, regardless of age, body type and physical condition. Jen has been teaching for 10 years, and in 2016, completed Elise Browning Miller’s Yoga for Scoliosis Teacher Training Program and is a Certified Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer. Jen teaches with a sensitivity gained from her own experience with chronic back pain and scoliosis. She currently studies with Jessica Becker at Clear Yoga and is preparing to take the Iyengar Level 1 teacher certification assessment in the fall of 2022.

This class is designed to teach basic actions for standing poses, forward and back bending poses, and headstand and shoulderstand. Previous yoga experience recommended; modifications will be made for injuries or certain medical conditions. Please have a mat, 3-4 blankets, a bolster, two blocks, a belt and a chair available for this level of practice. Email yoga@tveekrem.net if you have further questions.
