Sheila Shea
Sheila’s yoga journey began in 1999 with a prenatal class in Seattle while she was pregnant with her first daughter. Though she practiced for over a decade, it was her move to India in 2012, where she lived and immersed herself in yoga, that transformed it into a way of life. In India, she shed her Western perspective and deepened her understanding of the practice, experiencing yoga as both a physical and spiritual journey.
Back in the U.S., Sheila completed her 200-hour RYT at 3 Bridges Yoga in Portsmouth, NH in 2019 and has been teaching ever since. Seeking deeper training connected to the subtle body, she returned to India in 2024 to study Embodied Movement with Praveen Nair, completing her 300-hour RYT in Rishikesh.
Description
In this gentle yet profound practice, we slow down and hold postures for longer periods, inviting the body to release deeply held tension and find stillness. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues—like ligaments, joints, and fascia—inviting a deep sense of openness and healing.
Designed with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach, this class creates a safe space where you can connect to your body without judgment or expectation. It’s perfect for those seeking relaxation, emotional release, and a moment of peace within their day. We will work mindfully to release physical and mental blockages, bringing balance, calm, and a sense of grounded presence.
All levels are welcome—whether you're new to yoga or have a long-time practice, this class offers a supportive and nurturing environment for deep rest and rejuvenation.
*This class offers hands-on adjustments, consent cards are used to share your preference, which you can change at any time during class*
