WHY?

Do you have difficulties relaxing and releasing mental pressure and physical tension?
Do you feel you could use some more me-time to slow down and nourish yourself?
Would you like to experience stillness and look deeper inside yourself?
Then yoga Nidra could be a very beneficial technique for you.

WHAT?

When thinking ‘yoga’, you might think of physical postures – asanas. But not in yoga Nidra. The meaning of yoga Nidra is ‘yogic sleep’. And indeed, when you practice it for the first time, you might fall asleep. But it is not the purpose. Yoga Nidra is a meditation technique that helps you consciously relax your body and mind.

You practice yoga Nidra by lying on your back on the yoga mat, rug, or even on a bed. The most important is to feel comfortable and at ease during the practice. Everyone who can lay on the back (or side) can practice it!

HOW?

In this 1,5 hour workshop, we will practice the yoga Nidra technique and also explore why it works so well in relaxing the body and mind. The workshop will consist of the following parts:

- Introduction to Yoga Nidra: we will start with some essential information about yoga Nidra, including exactly what it is and how it works, and how it can be used in daily life.

- Gentle movement: we continue with short, gentle mindful movement inspired by hatha yoga to ground and relax the body and calm the mind.

- Yoga Nidra practice: We will be experiencing an extended yoga Nidra meditation.

After the workshop, you will receive a printed one-page handout with essential information about yoga Nidra.

Everyone who can lay on the back (or side) can participate. This workshop is designed for all levels of experience with yoga and meditation.

YOUR HOST

Lyuba is a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher. She specialises in hatha yoga and yoga Nidra. She is particularly fascinated by stress and resilience, body-mind connection, sleep management, breathwork, and managing energy with yoga and meditation.
