A calm, sensory-aware parent & child regulation session for families with SEND / neurodivergent children (ages 6–12).

These weekly sessions combine gentle movement, breathing and simple mindfulness practices to support:
• Emotional regulation
• Body awareness
• Confidence and connection between parent and child

The sessions are led by a trauma-informed instructor, SEND-trained practitioner and SEND parent, and are designed to feel predictable, respectful and pressure-free.

Children are welcome to participate at their own pace. They may observe, move, rest, or take breaks when needed. A quiet sensory corner is available throughout the session.

This is a space where regulation comes before performance.

Important Details
Age range: 6–12
Cost: FREE (Sport England funded)
Location: North Harrow Library – quiet private area
Session length: 60 minutes

Group size:
Spaces are intentionally limited to maintain a calm and safe environment for children who may be sensitive to noise, transitions or busy settings.

Booking:
Sessions are released in 5-week blocks at the same weekly time.

Spaces are first-come, first-served.

Who Attends
Each booking is for one parent/carer and one SEND child.
Parents remain present and participate alongside their child. The parent acts as the calm anchor, helping the child feel safe and supported during the session.

To protect the calm group environment:
• Siblings cannot attend the same booking
• Each child requires their own booking and accompanying adult
Families with siblings may prefer our 1:1 parent-child regulation sessions (opening soon). Details will be shared with our community shortly.
This is not a “perfect behaviour” space.
Children may watch, wander, move, pause or rest - all forms of participation are welcome.

What To Bring
• Your own yoga mat if you have one (limited mats available on site)
• A comfort item your child enjoys (cushion, blanket, small toy – please avoid noisy / messy toys)
• Water bottle

Registration (Important)
To attend your first session you must complete:

2️⃣ The Inner Light participation waiver

These must be completed at least 48 hours before your first session.
Bookings without completed waivers will be cancelled and offered to another family.

Attendance
If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking as early as possible so another family can join.
No-shows may lead to future bookings being cancelled, as sessions are funded and spaces are limited.
